Pirates of the Caribbean - Barbados time.

Pirates of the Caribbean !

Hello,

Sometimes it is unbelievable how quick you can be in such a different place while traveling.

We arrived yesterday in Barbados on of our favorite islands in the Caribbean. Clean, good organised, friendly relaxed people and beautiful nature, you find here in little England. That is how they call Barbados sometimes too. 

Because it is hilly and has beautiful gardens . You really feel and see here the English influence. It was there colony for a long time. 

On our travel we met Thelma and her son in Trinidad . They were on their way to Honduras. We both had to swap planes in Trinidad. 

So good to see each other and chat . Thelma is from Honduras and lives in Suriname too. She follows my yoga classes. That is how we know each other. Early morning picture here. 6 o’ clock a.m. 

We flew with Caribbean airlines a nice company 

First we stay up north and next week we stay more south . Holetown is a cute little place . With great beaches around . You can snorkel with stingrays and turtles for free! They are all here! A lot of coral around too! I am in heaven.

Yesterday I had the encounter with mister stingray. I saw a great stonefish hidden and wanted to go a little more near it . And then suddenly I saw this huge stingray around me , one meter behind! I was a little sacred . It was huge ! And that long tail was moving ! 

I always think of Steve Irwin who got killed ! 

And I swam away for this enormous seacreature! 

All safe in the end . ✌🏽😘 Underneath you see the snorkle spot and in the back you see Boston Whaler boats. 

There are a lot of beachvendors on the beach . They all try to make a living! 

One wants to weave a palmtree hat for you. The other one wants to make a bird feed basket from a coconut. I actually like the birdfeed baskets a lot! It is all part of the island life and it has its charm too. 

We are happy to stay with Ruth again! She is a lovely host! We stay in her Air b&b place .She welcomed us with softs and some stag beers. You understand Berry loved it . Good to see each other again after one year ! Time flies. 

Yesterday we saw some real Rihanna looking diva’s on the beach too. They were all in white. So I asked ‘ Who is getting married? ‘ are you have a bachelorette party ?’ . They all had to laugh ! ‘ No a friend turns 40 and we are having a big party together !’ I asked them if I could take a photo and the said :’ yes ofcourse’ 

This was the result. 

If you ever have the opportunity visit Barbados . You won’t regret it. 

Now we are going further to enjoy our holiday. 

After again a funeral of somebody who died too young! Judith 47 years old. 😢We had her funeral on Monday in Paramaribo. It was so sad! Berry worked with Judith. We were glad we managed to be part of her farewell .....because we were on her funeral. We realize on such an occasion that even more and more .....Try to ‘Carpe Diem’ If you can ,please.
